So Much Awesomeness!

We’re a little late posting this blog, but we wanted to wait for Hypepotamus to scoop the big news before we posted. Long story short, there is just so much awesomeness going on right now. For starters, we had two amazing events last week (The Fox Theatre Block Party, and the Nashville Opera on the Mountain concert), both of which went off wonderfully and gave us the opportunity to show people all over the southeast how versatile and snazzy Walkabout is.

And now this weekend we have three more amazing events we get to be a part of. I’ll give you a quick run down:

Chattahoochee Riverkeepers Back to the Chattahoochee Rive Race
Saturday, June 13th from 10am-3pm (race at 9am)
Paddlers of all ages and skill levels will take to the water for the 13th Annual Back to the Chattahoochee River Race and Festival. There’s still time to register if you want to be a part of it. Or you can just come at 10am, listen to some awesome music and check out the cool slate of vendors my friends at Health Fairs Onsite put together.

Atlanta Bicycle Coalition Tour de BeltLine
Saturday, June 13th from 7am-3pm
Ride with friends and family through 45 BeltLine neighborhoods, see plans for the next phases, and show some love for our city of dreams shaping into reality. This is a fundraiser ride for the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, and 10% of registration proceeds go to the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership.

There actually 3 rides as part of this (short, medium, long) so choose which one suits you and register today!

Publish15 Conference
Saturday, June 13th through Sunday, June 14th
Publish15 workshops will focus on a variety of issues confronting authors at all stages of production—from those with only an idea to those with a book in hand but needing an audience. Exhibitors will showcase the latest possibilities and options in all areas of publishing—writing, networking, printing, financing, and much more.  As an added benefit, you’ll get to see yours truly make an ass of himself on Sunday morning as I explain how mobile technology (ahem, walkabout) can be used for book and film promotion.

To top it all off, we’ve just announced that Walkabout will be one of the first 8 companies working out of the much-anticipated Switchyards Downtown Club being organized by Scoutmob Co-Founder Michael Tavani. We couldn’t be more excited to join this amazing group of startups in what is sure to be a hive of consumer, design-forward activity.

As Switchyards’ web footer says, we’re made with soul in Atlanta, and we’re proud to be starting on such amazing journey with such amazing companies.
